"As an expert in pediatric anesthesia, I'm dealing with two sets of parties: the parents, who are overwhelmingly concerned, and the child, who is fearful." Doctor Dinner, Anesthesiologist of New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, explains the differences between pediatric anesthesia and adult anesthesia, but notes how successful pediatric anesthesia has been despite the inherent challenges.

  • What are the hours like? What is the difference between kid's medication and medication made for adults?

  • 4 years undergrad (Bachelor's)

    4 years medical school (M.D. or D.O.)

    1 year internship

    3 years residency in anesthesia.

So it's a total of 12 years. I plan on doing this field, I just got accepted to medical school. So with this track I have 8 years left. I will be 30 years old as an attending anesthesiologist when I began my educational journey at 18....lol pretty crazy.

  • Mine had the chapstick.

  • thank you

  • 4 years college, 4 years medical school, 4 years anesthesia residency and training, and, if one chooses to sub specialize(ex pediatrics) it will be an additional training for around one to two years i believe.

  • my 8 month old baby is having a plastic surgery and I am very concerned about anesthesia...

  • Around how many years of college are required for this carrer?
