FOR ROOTS REGGAE LOVERS EVERYWHERE
Lucky Dube's first television appearance in the U.S., was in New York,
in 1989, on our weekly series REGGAE STRONG. Like everyone who appeared on the show, Lucky loved the name and concept of the program so much, he wrote this song in tribute.
What goes around, comes around.
This video contains footage of many of the artists, personalities, musicians and performers who appeared on Reggae Strong throughout the years, shot on location throughout the New York area and in Jamaica, 1984-1992. Lucky's performance was videotaped at Bay Street, Sag Harbor, NY, in July, 1990. (Thank you Preston Powell).
Reggae Strong will be returning to broadcast television in November, 2011, on Flow Jamaica, VOD. As additional outlets (television and internet), become available, I will post that information here.
Edited with love, thanks and praise for all the great singers and musicians who appeared on Reggae Strong...here and gone...and in particular tribute to two creative visionaries, Lucky Dube and Stafford Ashani, whose work lives on.
Nobody can stop reggae, 'cause reggae nah weak...
REGGAE STRONG.
I know what you mean, E. it is much more poignant to watch now than when I first made it.
