On July 31, a group of Nigerians dragged the lifeless body of one of their compatriots to a Guangzhou police station. They laid out his body, still bleeding from the deep gash in his head, in protest of police immigration raids. This recent one turned violent, and the man jumped through the second story window to avoid police.
Demand for cheap Chinese-made goods has been drawing in a flood of African traders to export hubs like Yiwu near Shanghai and Guangzhou. The influx of tens of thousands of Africans and Arabs, many overstaying their visas, has worried security-obsessed authorities. And its angered traders unhappy about visa curbs and racial profiling.

Although i think the police were right to take actions for overdue visa's, some of the comments here are out of hand. We should respect all humans :(

@DrFlippin Nigerians have a reputation among other africans as crooks. This may not be fair to all Nigerians, but that is the popular perception. I am from Congo and living in the US and have had contact with many Nigerians, some good some bad. But I can say that about just any other group of people.

What's wrong with the police raid? They are doing their job. I believe the reason tat blackman jumped out of the window is simply because of his expired visa (mayb he doesnt have one at all). To those overstayed your visas, please go back to where you come from, otherwise, more police raids r coming.
