Movieramble 1

Part one of a bit of movie-related rambling inspired by Taishajason's big binder of DVDs.

Things I forgot to mention:
1. I can NEVER remember David Fincher's first name.
2. Brazil's chief impact upon me was the subject of pursuit of dreams over stability. Gilliam's visual sense helped that.
3. I like Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More more than I do the final movie in the "trilogy," The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
4. Avoid the remake of The Haunting at all costs.

I know Weaver wanted to make a fifth Alien movie, and I heard rumors involving both Cameron and Scott. The story ideas sounded interesting, and I liked Weaver's performance in Resurrection as a new direction. But all of this was pre-AvP... It'll be rather disappointing if that's the last I get to see of the Aliens on the big screen.

Haven't had the chance to see Benjamin Button, though I'd certainly like to. I sadly don't make it to the theaters very often these days.

I've seen all the movies you recommend and have many of the same DVDs.

What do you think of the possibility of a 5th Alien movie? I think Weaver wants to do it.

And how about the new Gilliam film now that Heath has passed away?
