Working as a guard on these trains day in, day out, they stop very very quick. Scarily, in fact when you do 125mph - 0mph it;s suprisingly quick. You just need to get ready for the BANG as you halt. then get ready for the smell of brakes.Fortunately it's probably happended to me less than 10 times in 7 years and the only causes were 'tilt' dropping out on 221's usually Stafford to Crewe @125 and signal reversion due to 'the little orange men' on the S&T!

@Jonnyriffic It's the 158s that used to work on the Transpennine, as this video was filmed a good 18 months before the new 185s started to appear!
