This totally lacks the vocal thunder/baritone depth of the Jerry Butler version. These fools should have left it alone. Also the original had the ringing female background vocals typical of the 60's. They left this beauty out. This pair rocked on OTHER songs but THIS song for them was "so hard to do" well.

This WAS Soul!!!!
I never understood why these two hated each other so badly.
Had the honor of meeting and interviewing Dave Prater after his Revue show
in San Diego, the "Sam" was a vocal dead-ringer, however, Dave was served
legal papers by Sam Moore before the show, sad.
Two legendary singers, so smooth and soulful, the likes that music will never
hear again.

I was fortunate enough to be present at this taping at the Hollywood Palace in Hollywood, Cali in 1970. There were only friends in the audience.
