Hoopnotica was outraged by Las Vegas City Councils proposed ban on Hula Hoops and decided to take a stand by organizing a Hula Hoop Protest at Las Vegas City Hall on August 18th. Thank you to everyone who shared their support, and to Hoopnotica Certified Instructor Julie Schoolastra for joining us at Las Vegas City Hall!

"Freedom of expression is what makes us Americans," said Gabriella Redding, chief executive officer of Hoopnotica, "The free expression zone is the United States of America." - Las Vegas Review Journal

"The United States is a Freedom of Expression zone in all of its public places...If you allow Vegas to start sectioning off where we are allowed to creatively express ourselves, you are going against our First Amendment rights.", Gabriella Redding as quoted on CBS 8 News Now

"The First Amendment guarantees us freedom of expression anywhere, and Hula Hooping is as Americana as apple pie...How could Hula Hooping, of all things, be banned in Las Vegas?" - Melissa Palmer as quoted on NBC My News 3 Las Vegas

  • Everybody relax, they dropped the proposed ban so go on and enjoy your hooping. I think that everyone should do what they like however they please just as long as it isn't hurting anyone, plus my two sisters love hooping.

  • It's an attack on free expression - Fight the tyranny!

  • Hoop like theres no tomorrow!

  • Why outlaw such simple harmless things that only bring smiles? What a waste of time and money. Keep hooping ladies! : )

  • Fight the power!

  • That's Awesome, nice work ladies!

  • keep fighting I used to live in Vegas get it passed there i s no reason to ban hula hooping Hoopnotica seller Joy Hubbard, Los Angeles, CA

  • As an ardent fan of the joy of hooping, I 'get' the freedom of speech & expression. It must also be considered that in a place of high foot traffic, not everyone wants to duck, dodge & weave to get around spinning hoops. In a place with high vehicle traffic, it is ANOTHER DISTRACTION. Like texting and dialing on cell phones, anything that takes the eyes off the road creates the potential for a motorcrash. All points must be considered. We hoopers MUST practice good hoop ettiquette.

  • Thank you all for protesting! Happy hooping :)
