Simple Minds performing "Pleasantly Disturbed" live December 14th, 1987 at Glasow Barrowlands. Derek Forbes on bass! The band performed 3 nights at this venue for 'Cash for Kids'. This particular song had not been performed live for roughly 6 years. Perhap Derek's brief inclusion to the band had an infulence with that. It has not being performed live since!!! It is one of the bands oldest songs. Please don't pay that much attention to the video. Its the band performing 'Don't you forget about me' live in Brazil January 1988 (its the nearest footage to the performance I could find! Which means John Giblin is shown in the video rather than Derek).

  • Was at all 3 gigs, they opened up wi `Room`,then went on to perform the most memorable set lists the have ever done...,capital city, pleasantly disturbed, wild version of come a long way... brilliant.

    ..

  • @feenoSM I agree, Mick! It was a very imaginative set list. Probably influenced by Dereks very brief return......

  • in the middle of 80's began jim to sing the old songs like a diva, with looonger vocals, good or bad idea? I think its perfect for songs like ''belfast child''. A question of taste, dont know. thank you tony for this rare upload!

  • @Dexbam Thanks. I agree really. 1980-1984 favourite period for me personally. Cheers Dex.

  • These 3 Barrowlands shows were the absolute peak of Simple Minds career. The most impressive shows on rock history. Listening to these bootleg tapes still sends shivers down my spine 24 years later.
