Mary Preston plays the Lay Family Fisk Organ at the Myerson Symphony Center in Dallas TX. It is a huge IV/100 rank mechanical action organ, and is by far one of the most important instruments in the United States. She has a very a fiery interpretation to share with those who listen. Definitely one of my favorites.

  • Nice organ. Sounds like a pretty good room too. Loved the performance too. God I hate it when some unknown picks someone elses performance apart. Get a grip on yourself and keep it to yourself.

  • I thought I had heard the best recording of this, until now. MAGNIFICENT!!

  • The chords in the "modéré" sections are brushed off FAR TOO QUICKLY!!! Furthermore, some more "legato" would be welcome (e.g., the C-major section that momentarily relieves the stress of the triple-forte of the last 6 pages) - I don't like everything being 'staccato'!!! No, I definitely dislike this videoclip!!!!...

  • What's that "snick" at 02:23??

  • ¡Es o me parece que este organo tiene dos consolas?.

  • The Tuba Profunda is beautifulll!

  • Ms. Preston, if you ever read this, I want you to know that this is the best recording I have heard of this piece since Simon Preston's recording of it at Westminster, about 1970. Perfect! I also agree with other posters - the acoustics of that room are superb. I do wish you had brought in the 32' a bit earlier, but that is a minor quibble of personal taste. Overall? Bravissima!

  • Meyerson is great and also Mary Preston as resedint organist. I got to play one chord on the Fisk and it was like playing in a cathedral. I didnt think the sound was ever going to stop. My fave stop has to be the Tuba Prufunda 32. I call it the Earthquake stop. lol.

  • The Meyerson is an amazing space. It's acoustically live enough to effectively hear a whisper from the stage, but not so reverberant that the sound becomes jumbled. I've heard symphonies and several singers there, both classical and otherwise. It's truly engineered VERY well. Bass Hall in Ft Worth is also a great hall.

  • Excellent rendition. I'm not normally a big fan of concert hall organs, because they're situated in an acoustic environment that doesn't show off the instrument. But Myerson seems to be a little more reverberant than most concert halls.
