very excellant review! the only question that i can't find aswer is this : can you use your Smart Start Alarm with your Viper LCD remote at the sime time? I mean, can i start my car with Smart Start, and then when i approach my car, unlock it with my Viper remote? Or if i start it with Smart Start, i actually have to unlock the car with smart start absolutly?

@Toyota23 Hey, Yes if you start or lock or anything with the smart start you can use the remote to turn it off or lock or unlock. The two devices "talk" between each other so the commands can be given from either device, does not matter which one you initiate it from.

@monster4u22 thanks for the answer bro! you totally made my day! This the only concern i got! I actually bought the Smart Start today with the GPS (VSM250) and i already got a Security and Start system , the 5701, wich is the model just under yours! I'm gonna have it installed by 2 weeks! Did you installed both together at the same time? I supposed?

@Toyota23 Hey no problem. Glad I could help. At that time, yes I had everything installed at once. Since then, I actually have upgraded to the GPS unit. It actually didn't take them that long to change out the unit. I have said I would do another review on the GPS unit but just can't find the time to do so. Who knows...maybe soon...good luck with your system!

I'm trying to install the smart start that I bought online , I'm not a authorized installer so I can't login to register it, is there a way around that so I can save money from paying someone else to install it , thanks

@josephpierce1978 I am not sure...you might want to talk to the dealer and see if they can register it for you...idk if that's possible.

just got the unit yesterday, but was rushed out of a dealer demo so this was helpful. Not sure if they install a shock sensor standard, will have to check for myself haha.. also, will it alarm if you try to open the door while its locked? i don't get the 4 levels when you function, is that an audio adjust for the alarm or remote? thanks again, excellent demo man

@raffeal247 Hey...thanks for your comment...i'm glad you found the review helpful. They charged me an hour worth of labor which was $30 per unit. I don't think it actually took them an hour to install each add-on but that was their price. anyways...good luck with ur system.

Excellent video. I just purchased this alarm for my hemi charger (not installed yet). I also purchased the add-ons you suggested as well. Question, what did you they charger you to install it? Just curious.
