This documentary made in 1997 is about an Aristasia that no longer exists - and in a way never really existed. The vast over-emphasis on corporal punishment did not represent the way Aristasia actually was even in Britain at that time, but it was considered necessary in those days to overstress it for publicity purposes (without that "hook" a television documentary would never have been made).

Whether that was a good or a bad decision is a matter of opinion. However, Aristasia as it exists today is largely American based and does not practice corporal punishment.

The ideals of goodness and purity in an all-feminine world, of course remain the same, but it is felt that "discipline" of this type encourages a sleazy interest that has no place in a world of beauty and innocence.

The documentary is, in any case very misleading in the discipline aspect. it probably shows about as much discipline in a weekend as there would really be in a year. Anyone coming purely for "discipline" would have been very disappointed - as they would in Aristasia today. It is a whole way of life, not a "discipline game".

With the exception of horseback riding, none of those things are so highly ritualized or so consistently time consuming and expensive. More comparable activities might be high fetish S&M. And with that one exception, the participants are usually not giving up the same percentage of their income. I doubt these women are all extremely wealthy.

I think children can be spanked without it being sexual (I was spanked and really don't think my mom was getting off on it), but in highly ritualized settings like this one, it is more sexual. People don't usually spend that might time or money on asexual pursuits.

They take the prayers from the Catholic faith and insert daughter or female names completely ignoring the existence of men. They construct their own ideals and then update them to meet what they want.

I think in the last five years only two girls have actually been expelled from Aristasia. "jchrissyart" is one of them. But she is correct in saying that if you are interested in Aristasia just for discipline, you are wasting your time. You won't like Aristasia or understand it. If you are genuinely attracted by the ideals, though, you will find Aristasia a warm and loving home.
