Whelen Vortex R4 - Perry, GA Siren #3

This is a weekly test of Perry, GA's siren system. This one is siren #3, and is the newer one of the bunch. If you listen closely, you can hear 2 of the other 3 wind up right after this one, and wind down after this one too. One of those is the one at Sam Nunn Blvd. & Hampton Ct. (siren #1), and the other is at Tucker Rd. & E Tolleson St. (siren #4)

@johnmartinez123 whelens are the best electronic( speaker sirens if you want to put it that way) sirens on the market today and theres a reason why the siren cant do a full 360 degree turn , is because the wires will snap if it does a full circle thats why it does 180 left , 180 right, then 360 left then stops and goes the other way.

hey murrfarms, our town system is completly made up of whelen vortexr4s and this one other siren that i don't what it's called but 5 months ago i was trying to figure out what kind of whelens we have and it's only because of you that i figured it out you are cool

Cool video, but this siren and all of Whelen's crappy creations are just that: crap. This thing can't even do a whole 360° turn. Long live the Thunderbolt!

@SgtSavage166 Actually, it's one of those cases like ASC with the Cyclone; they still have it listed on their site, but it's been discontinued for a good while now. I guess they figured 2dB isn't a significant-enough difference between the two to justify continuing to make the R1. This is what happened to the WPS-4008, a difference of 1-2dB between it and the WPS-4004 made it a redundancy, so they dropped it off their line.
