XBOX and XBOX 360 Stuck Drive Fix

Fix the original XBOX or the XBOX 360 with a stuck drive. No opening of the case required. No voiding your warranty. It's a very simple fix that I learned thanks to "LifeLongRacer" that involves cleaning a dirty belt and pulleys that are a part of the open/closing mechanism. This fix will work on almost any jammed drive - the same belts and pulleys are in almost all of them.

For those of you asking about what to clean the drive or pulley with, if you take the 10 minutes out of your life to watch the entire video (or even just the first half) you'll see that I clean the belt with simple soap and water under the tap. NOT ALCOHOL I _DO_ use alcohol to clean the pulley; there is no harm in using alcohol on a plastic pulley. You could also use a damp q-tip (with water) or use a drop of Windex or something else that will evaporate quickly, yet clean off the build up.

@darkman042 DO NOT USE ANYTHING THAT IS OIL BASED like baby oil as I have seen somebody ask. That will break down the plastic in the wheel and rot the rubber on the belt. If you use anything oil based your drive will be ruined within a few months.

hi I really need help now i open the drver i took out the rubber band and when i flippt my xbox up the driver clost and it wont open am so mad right now plz answer I realy need your help

In some cases the tray might not open even if you do this. If it doesn't, there's a hole about a half inch under the right side of the tray. If you push a paper clip into it while pressing the eject button it'll open.

ok im lil confused....great video....cept for the xbox360 this video is to show you how to fix the stuck tray, meaning that it will not open nor close which is the problem that im having...but at 711 u say to press eject button to open...well yeah mine is stuck and i ovbiously cant do that lol so what do i do now? the light tapping (not banging) isnt opening it and it feels like its caught on something
