I use shredded paper, first dip in water and squeeze out the water then put in bin, I also sprinkle a little bit of dirt in my bin and coffee grounds. your worms will like the cardboard better if you first soak it in water and again squeeze out the water, if your bed seems to wet then add shredded DRY paper.
