Wagging Tail -An independent movie. LIFE IS LIKE A WAGGING TAIL, WITH THE DECISIONS WE TAKE AND ACTIONS WE DO.
Story: The story is about a dog that gets lost in the park and comes across different characters in the park. (Camera angles are low and shaky because story is told from dog's point of view and how it sees the characters. There is even background of dog breathing if you listen carefully) Dog encounters John, a successful entrepreneur, who lost his life savings by investing foolishly in stocks through an investor by name Mernie Badoff. He kills himself by taking pills. John's story is about people who risk everything by foolishly believing in ponzi schemes. Dog then moves to meet Babbi who is a young black male in his thirties and who took wise decisions in his life by taking inspiration from Barack Obama. Babbi's story is about determination and willpower. Dog then encounters Jessica, a teenage girl, who is always texting and is least bothered about surroundings. She gets hit by a car while crossing road. Jessica's character outlines the dangers of texting. Dog eventually meets its owner.
Total Budget: $900
Camera: Canon DV
Pre-Production Days: 15
Production Days: 2
Post Production Days: 20

Director Notes: A very challenging project I undertook with my friends to gauge me and my team's capability to produce a full length feature film. The concept for the story came up in one of our "Thursday drinking sessions" and took a lot of effort and "patience" to materialize. Camera angles are low because story is told from dog's point of view. There is even background of dog breathing if you listen carefully. We had lot of hiccups in managing actor schedules. It was a great learning experience. Actors were told to tell and behave how they would in a real life situation if they were the characters, so the dialogues were improvised by the actors themselves. Very challenging, kind of hypnotizing the actor to get into skin of the character. Movie was shot in a day, but post production of aligning scenes with music and editing took almost 8 hours each day (20 days). I got to thank Clement for his extra ordinary assistance in post production work. Couldn't have accomplished the task without my buddies Sri and Amar. Movie will be sent to International Film Festivals.
