Teddy Charles vibraharp - Peter Urban trumpet - Gigi Gryce alto sax - J.R.Monterose tenor sax - Sol Schlinger bariton sax - Don Butterfield tuba - Jimmy Raney guitar - Mal Waldron piano - Teddy Kotick bass - Joe Harris drums
From:The Teddy Charles Tentet 1956
(Oops, make that ‘Mal’ - Finkänslig)
Gigi Gryce solos here, and he solos on another tune from this session, The Emperor. But The Emperor is not posted on YT, is it? Of the seven Tentet numbers - recorded over three sessions - Gryce solos only on these two. :I:

Composer Wal Waldron also arranged his Vibrations for the Tentet. Recorded in New York on 17 JAN 1956. Released orig. as The Teddy Charles Tentet, ATLANTIC 1229.
Peter Urban? Really it's Art Farmer: he was under contract elsewhere.
Outstanding post! Thank you. :I:

When in NYC, in college, in the late 1950's, this record first knocked me out. It still sounds fresh and rare, unique, showing some of jazz's best minds. Dig Monterose in the last minute -- the swingingest saxist nobody ever heard of! One of the most underrated bebop records ever made. I am still carrying my original copy with me, but thanks for putting it up for public edification!
