After experiencing the EF-5 tornado that slammed through my hometown of Parkersburg, Iowa I no longer agree with the message of this video. But I have chosen to leave it posted. Thanks, Charli.
Journalists cannot shy away from truth. The truth can be ugly, sad and depressing, but it needs to be shared - otherwise, how can atrocities such as these be combated or prevented in future?
we keep these images because they show us for what we truly are. to teach us a lesson that we will hopefully never forget. that we cannot ever forget for the sake of humanity
The Kevin Carter photo is on my rotating screensaver at work. It has genuinely shaken many including my friend from Africa who asked me why I would want such an image on my computer? It is of course to remind us of the inhumanity of which man is capable. While many on this Earth live grossly opulent lifestyles such children die every day from the lack of food. One must ask on looking at this photo - Where is God?
the image that got me the most was of that father and son, just the look of terror on there face horrified me! i cant image what they must of gone through!
Im sorry for any losses you have encured from the tornado!
This was heartbreaking but excellent! That would seem to make your point, though! I mean we are waching this to the end...not because some demented need to view other people's misery is being satisfied but because we are moved and appauled by this misery! How can this go on? We keep watching because we want to know what else does go on...by the end I was tearful and outraged. So do the images educate, incite action, inform?

I think we need to put all images of suffering, war, etc. on the news so that people know what is going on around the world....without spin.

@DjHardaFasta That image is of the innocent Palestinians, captured before being brutally murdered by the Israeli soldiers.

I donated to Doctors without Fronties because of an awful image. We can be moved to action by media coverage of horridness.

Life and War can be cruel, pray to God that suffering will stop and all people can live as one, with no pain, no suffering.
