Thanks for the great tips! So 1080p isn't all that, eh? I actually have a D90, the D5100 is my sister's, but as far as video quality goes, the latter is so much better. The blur vignette must've been done in post-prod? I have to see if I can do the same on my Sony Vegas Home Edition ;) But you have really made those colors pop and the styling is just absolutely gorgeous. Now I am not a filmmaker or a film student, but I'm trying! I have a 50mm f/1.8, an 18-105mm and a 70-300mm.

But most important is to use it on a tripod, and think your shots properly. A very good camera lets you to do what ever you want and in 90% of the cases it looks good, a not so good camera requires more attention, planning, simplicity...and most important are the lenses...quality lenses used properly.

If you own a Nikon d5100 you have to believe it...:P

Regarding the technical aspects I have used lenses from wide to 35mm, 50mm and some Cokin A filters, a warm one (orange) and a blur vignette one (the image that you see is not to different from what the camera recorded, I have not done to much of a color correction). Another aspect that makes this camera work OK is to not use it at the biggest resolution. I have used it at 720p (in that way you have less "waves" on the image)

Beautifully done, and such a sweet, charming story! Good job! Although I'd like to know the technical aspects of this short film. I can't believe this was shot with the same camera as mine :)
