I took this video in 1998 at a local fair, I wanted to share it with you.
Tracy King possessed a sense of balance. Nicknamed the "Canoe Man," King balanced an array of items on his chin, including a 15-foot ladder, a refrigerator, a motor scooter, picnic tables, bicycles, outboard motor and even children. He showcased his special talent at fairs and schools, and made appearances on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

He demonstrated his balancing ability 10 years ago at a local radio station contest, when he balanced a canoe on his chin. The stunt won the contest and King drove away in a new Ford Probe.
He died in "The Station" night club fire in Rhode Island trying to get people out of the fire.
I believe that was in 2003.
This video is in his memory.

  • @xwondernotesxx, Hi I am very glad I posted this video, although I only met him that one time, he must have been a great man, an uncle you can be proud of.

  • I had the honor of working with Tracy in Kingston doing tree work. He was a great man. An extrodinary talent that will be greatly missed. He was a great influence.

This video, to me, shows a man who was able to conquer the impossible. A skilled arborist. A great friend. And man... could he hit a golf ball.

  • Yes he was a great man, this was the first and only time I met him.
