Respond to this video... human music grading
new = shit....
heard once = ok ....
recognised = good....
remember the name = really good...
remember the chorus = must get it
playing on the ipod or in the car = a classic....
repeat cycle...I find all music is like this.....IF CYCLE IS BROKEN AT THE REMEMBER THE NAME STAGE ....this choon is usually condemned to the "pile of wank" stage and is then rendered useless until mid life crisis stage where it may be called upon to look cool

@JBoocher.. I agree...... also when old stuff was new it was probably slated and called shit....then people warm to it and begin to love it...before you know it they are all stomping like fuck to it....I hated DnB to begin with, cos I loved jungle so much and DnB was different....but now....look out...I have wet dreams about DnB.....I think the point I am making is, people dont like change, but once they get used to it they love it.... then its not new, its loved........then repeat the cycle

@DevineInnovations T99 - Nocturne

@Phume303 Are you sure it's not a preset synth lead? You're right that T99 were the first to use it (Anasthasia), but I don't think they took it from a sample (unlike Quadrophonia, which is blatantly an orchestra stab).
Something tells me this sound was on the Roland Juno Alpha, along with the Mentasm hoover.

Im actually into psychedelic trance but I saw the video clip for E-Vapor8 on MTV some years ago and decided to search for more Altern8 stuff heheh... this is pretty cool
@SchnorresProductions hello mate. that sound is not from a synth. It's a sample from orchestral or opera music or something. T99 were the first to use it, and many others sampled it from them. Together with the 'Mentasm' sound it was a staple in hardcore tunes in '91 and 92' and beyond. best wishes : )

@Fandabbadozee I must be about 10 years older than you if you were giving your folks grief at 8 or 9! I went out raving to this and loved nothing more than pissing my parents off by making them listen to it - my dad actually came into my bedroom once and told me "to turn that f***ing music off, it's illegal, you know..."!!! Like they went to bed with a cup of Horlicks and a good book at 9pm on a Saturday night!!!
