Quantum Revolution A with the new 608A prime mover sound in a Bachmann Sharknose. The video isn't the highest quality due to the limited equipment that I have at the shop but I think you'll get the point when you hear the sound.

  • I used the old Revolution A decoder in this, the new Titan A will fit pretty easily, all you need to do is shave down the mounting posts that thread the shell onto the chassis. You can easily mount a 1.1" speaker in 1/2 of a Tony's Train Exchange enclosure on the shelf in the rear, You can likely fit either a 1" or another 1.1" in the cab area since there is no cab interior and get great stereo out of these guys too. I have a PRR A-B-A set that I heavily detailed that I'll be converting next.

I've been looking into the speakers for when I do complete my purchase of the necessary items to pull this project off. I do have questions remaining on the speakers: I think I'm understanding you on the rear shelf located 1.1" speaker. I presume this is facing towards the rear of the unit, or is it aimed upwards towards the roof? Also, on the cab located speaker: can I get away with a .5" speaker facing upwards for the horns. Also do you have any pics of the conversion?

  • The sound system in there sounds awesome. I do have some questions on the decoder though. I'm currently doing up an A-B pair and thinking on adding the newer QSI Titan Series in there. Now which decoder did you land up using in the Revolution Series? Also how much modification was required to install it?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Like the sound was thinking of buying acouple of demonstators and putting sound in them.

  • Sounds like the real thing!! I love it!!!
