  • I have one of these,a pretty good radio, the channel 9 and 19 channel switch has been modified to give me Lows and Highs, middle setting gives me Cb legal 40,its a big unit, but sits on the small desk i have just right,it also has galaxys very own NB,and it works a treat,is does have front legs to stand it up,and i do like the 6 digit frquency counter,i would recomend this to anyone who wants a modern type radio.

  • @wolfywho the only thing that would make this radio better is if it had export mode!! lol

  • Hey, lets not forget about the Connex Satern CB base station.... Otherwise, you'd have to use a mobile w/ a power supply or a moded HF rig (not legal in the US, although lots of CBers and hams do this.)

  • It has a 6th digit! The SSB ops would appreciate that. Also, the 959 chassis has some tricks up its sleeve such as dual finals and a few other little things.

  • Im thinking about buying this unit.

  • The only thing that would make this radio better is if it had NOAA weather. Wouln't mind replacing my current base station (Uniden Washington) and separate weather radio with a base radio with weather built in. I'm seriously spending more money and getting the Ranger RCI-2980WX base radio, just to have it all combined into one unit.

  • @cbradiomagazine Excellent!

  • Its kind of weird how inside its basically just a mobile unit without covers or a faceplate mounted inside the radio.
