Nice video, interesting behaviour. Could it not be that the mite is cleaning it's legs with it's moutparts? (It uses leg after leg).

Thanks for your comments. I agree with you that it is possible what you are saying. But my thought was that if the mite was trying to clean its leg, why would it not clean one leg with the other leg or with its body as done in many insects. I did look it closely and saw mouthparts being cleaned. It would be nice if you repeat the experiment and confirm or deny my finding. - Vikram
