Has anyone ever noticed how anti-social the message in Rudolph's story is.
He's alienated for being different and it's only after he's useful to santa that he's finally accepted. Even then others (including santa) still make back-handed jokes about him.
At the time the story was made there was strong anti-communist sentiment and he had a "Red" nose, possibly a metaphor.
