@NoCutCard612 I think that's why the band were so greatly popular in Australia too... all of what you said. It's a shame that the population will only listen to such themes when its sung by Bon Jovi or Bruce Springsteen. Perhaps Rose Tattoo were just too scary for most people.

LOL! I hear ya. Rose Tattoo seems to be a band (which doesn't fall into the narrowly defined parameters of Punk or Oi! music) that skinheads (regardless of belief system) and punks enjoy across the board. Their tough, blue collar image and song subject matter (which dealt with real life) struck a chord with that crowd because Angry and the boys lived the life they sang about. Rose Tattoo was and still is, the real thing.

@NoCutCard612 It astounds me ... when I watch pieces of Top Of The Pops on YouTube and see what that show chooses to put on there and this gets ignored. It amazes me that the only time lead singer Angry Anderson did a Top Of The Pops appearance was when he made a solo # 1 with a love song ballad ('Suddenly').... I don't know, there is something wrong with the human race when skinheads have better taste in music than the general population (minus Skrewdriver).

I found out about these guys via British Oi! & skin bands covering their songs (in some cases, as with Skrewdriver, quite poorly).

it really does come down to promoters...

@USASLABOVICFANCLUB it's not that we've been hiding it and it's not like these bands hid away from the rest of the world. Rose Tattoo did put themselves out there, toured the US and Europe during their peak and gained fans like Guns 'n' Roses, who covered their classic 'Nice Boys Don't Play Rock 'n' Roll'. Whilst, Dragon and Cold Chisel had an element of self-sabotage, but other bands like The Angels and Rose Tattoo gave it a real shot during their time
