The first part consists of the big LSE problem of taking on students who are only interested in getting a job. Unfortunately, too many people will watch this and then wonder "what problem?"...

  • It's important not to take these videos too seriously, you certainly shouldn't be turning down an LSE offer (or indeed, accepting one) based off The LSE Problem videos! For one, they obviously focus on some of the bad things, rather than the many good things, at LSE. In addition, most things in these videos have been exaggerated for comic effect. Please only take these videos as a joke, but there is some element of truth in them. The videos were designed with current LSE students in mind.

  • lol i have a a in c1 i will be fine

  • Hi Guys, I'm acutely interested in the name of the book mentioned in the video (2.20 +), is this an fictional book or a real one?

  • I don't think most 1st year undergrads apply to LSE just to get into IB. However, because there is a massive investment banking atmosphere once they get into LSE, they can't help but get influenced.

Also, there are so many career societies, so many recruitment events from banks and many advertisement e.g. free chocolate, free ice cream, free coffee constantly being handed to students in Houghton Street by big banks, they can't help but fall into the trap of Goldman Sachs obsession.

  • @cmaglimable I'll guess I'll be studying Psychology in UCL then

  • @ImKyzN if you're doing it for social life, UCL is better. LSE if you want to come out working for an investment bank or management consulting - although both are good academically, and UCL even ranks higher in most comparative publications. LSE lives by its reputation.

  • @cmaglimable well I live in the South East so its just the 188 bus and hour then I'm there, I've been thinking of UCL, LSE, Imperial and Kings aswell as Cambridge but I'd prefer the first 2 because of the student membership to Ministry of Sounds club ;)

  • @ImKyzN in all honesty, it is an outstanding university, although oxford, cambridge, and harvard I'd say are better.

  • @cmaglimable is the place good or bad?
