thats not TOTALLY accurate...some of those guys get locked into 5-10yr contracts. if they get into a 10 yr deal, blow their knee out during the 3rd year, then they have a problm. they either work through the pain (after they've had their surgery) and 9 times out of 10 get into drugs to manage it as a result, or buyout the contract....if you've got a multimillion dollar contract, the last thing you're going to want to do is buy it out...
I don't think Vince was out of line doing this, personally, if i was being blamed for every pro wrestler death out there i'd be pissed too, look at guys like Scott Hall and Jake Roberts, people who Vince can legitimately say "We did everything we could' but when they hit the curb and stay there WWE will be blamed be "they wuz a pro wrassler" so therefore wrestling is evil. It's understandable that Vince would get upset.
vince is great to his employees as long as their making money for him. once a wrestler is out of the wwe, vince treats them like the scum of the earth.
Vince took all that was great with wrestling in the 80s/90s and flushed it down the toilet. Nowadays..he's like the Al Davis of wrestling. Too old/stubborn to let others convince him he's running a sinking ship.
All of that is true, and also are among the reasons why I hate Vince McMahon (as do many others who've followed wrestling over the years) for what he did to the wrestling business.
