  • I think cyborg technology will be first to come specifically because of bioluddites objection to changing humanity. It's the only field here with valid medical applications they can appreciate(prosthetics).

  • vision, which you are using, is a 'computer' of cells in your eye, which are producing the sensation of sight.

hearing is also a computer of cells.

all our senses are composed of a finite number of nerve cells.

if i were to call you on the telephone, you are reconstructing the reality of my voice with the aid of electronic pulses in the phone cord. you're not hearing ME, you're hearing a VIRTUAL me. in person, you don't hear my THOUGHTS when i speak - they are mediated by my vocal cords.

  • this things will not happend in 2045. but will happend one day... FREEZE you body man!!!

  • LOL He looks the same now as he does today.

  • I think as time goes on, Kurzweil will exponentially be looked at as more of a genius.

  • @collins1188 You moron, it IS exponential... look at the y axis...

  • @collins1188 probably because those graphs were logarithmic, so a linear line actually represents an exponential change if those values were shown on a normal graph. The logarithmic graph is used so you can appreciate details that might be several orders of magnitude (perhaps billions of times) different in scale in one graph.

  • Ever seen the movie surrogate? It's not a great movie but I suggest you watch it because you will probably find it interresting. It addresses the questions you are asking quite nicely.

  • HAHAHAHAHA... none of those graphs looked exponential at all.

If you want to know what exponential growth looks like... just type into a graphing calculator y = e^(x)

Those graphs look nothing like exponential growth. They look more linear than exponential.

  • Ok so if this is the vision where is the philosophical vision? Does Humanity just sit around doing nothing?

  • Um how are we i n Virtual reality right now?
