there is a guy that builds them to be able to run up to 800 horses. but yeah i have burned up a couple of them overdrives. the rear planetaries tend to burn up due to lack of fluid.....

nope ive blown 3 brand new 700 r4 trannys in my chevelle

i use a 2 speed powerglide and a 2500 rpm stall behind a 760 horse 383 stroker

it's known as one the best od trans, they make adapters for most every engine to mate to it, did you make your opinion in 1984 and never read about the trans again.

Go for 4.10s in the rear diff Andy. The 2400rpm stall converter should make it a good bit happier, 4.10s will make it happier still. The quicker you can get the revs up the better for what you've got in it.
