After working for 30 years to create a flapping-wing aircraft, first imagined by Leonardo da Vinci, Dr. James DeLaurier succeeded:
Ornithopter: a flying machine whose driving airfoils have an oscillating motion,
in contrast to the rotary motion of an airplane propeller.
