Scn spokesman Tommy Davis Lied about Jett Travolta's anti-seizure meds and Scientology

Responding to questions from the media about Scientology's stance on anti-seizure medication, Tommy Davis lies. His statements directly contradict the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

L. Ron Hubbard:
"And then people who have epilepsy, which is a type of disease which gives
them seizures, are almost always found on some minor drug that prevents them from getting these—they call them petit mal seizures. That's epilepsy.

I don't care how they call it. Sometimes they really seize and sometimes it's just slight. One of those, if an epileptic ever took you by the hand and so forth, he's liable to break every bone in your hand, if he suddenly had a seizure.

But the doctors keep them on something to prevent this. It's just a tranquilizer and they keep them on that one year, year in and year out. And then you come along as an auditor and you try to audit the pc and you tell the pc that he'll have to go off that drug. And then all of a sudden, why something will happen from someplace or another that the pc will tell the doctor that they have been taken off the drug by the auditor. And the doctor will call up plaintively asking you to please put her back on the drug because she needs this.

And you get into a collision between medical treatment and so on.

Now Ive been using a lot of medical words here or chemical words really. Just don't pay any attention to them because they're mostly gobbledygook, and there's an awful lot of gobbledygook words. Gobbledygook just means nonsense chatter, you see. There's an awful lot of them."

On their website, the Church of Scientology states that any drugs that affect the mind "maim and destroy people," and are thus strictly forbidden for use by any Scientologist.

It has been reported that Jett Travolta successfully used Depakote to control his seizures, but his medication was ceased, allegedly due to a lack of effectiveness as well as toxicity fears.
Depakote in particular is described as a harmful drug by the "Citizens Commission on Human Rights," a Scientology front group that opposes Psychiatry.

Tommy Davis either hasn't been trained in the upper levels, has NO clue of the past and ALL of us who suffered following Hubbard's anti-medical Policies (all the while he was secretly popping pills himself, I found out after I left!)-or he's a total liar. Hubbard isn't supporting medication or Dr's here. It's his typical put downs.

Thank GOD and the NET: I'm free from Scientology. I survived it, despite they insisting, for 30 years, I get off of my medication for Epilepsy.
