@BurlapDog Not to be a stickler but the bridge in this video is still a fully operational railroad bridge. I work for the railroad that runs across it, and as a matter of fact I was in a locomotive running back and forth over that bridge on that day, with the water that high. The highway bridge a couple hundred feet south of this bridge is the one that is closed to all traffic.

i just moved away from there 2 years ago and in all my 20 years of liing in walpole i have never seen the water that high!!!

I'm sorry, but I have to say this. It's the village of North Walpole and there is a difference. Just ask the people who live in Walpole. Life long North Walpole resident.

Actually that bridge connects walpole to bellows falls.

Yeah, so far, so good. The bridge has been closed for some time (over a year), which gives me some pause as to just how strong it really is. Hopefully it won't go the way of the covered bridge in that clip that Alice shared with us. Water is just incredibly powerful.
