You won't be able to just round them up and find them homes. They're feral at this point because I'm sure many have been out away from humans their entire life. In fact trying to get them homes (leaving them with a shelter) will probably just result in them all being euthanized. Round them up. Spay, neuter, and vaccinate them and release them back to where they were. You created a feral colony, now manage it.

We found a (very young) kitten in the middle of the street. If we hadn't picked it up it would have been killed. I agree with this ad simply because people don't deserve animals if they aren't going to take care of them.

There are very cheap spay and neuter programs everywhere. Just google them.

even if we required every person to get their pet fixed there would still be plenty of strays reproducing and plenty of idiots not getting it done. Not having any more cats is NOT the worst thing that can happen. I'd rather not have them than have them suffering, but that is never going to happen.
