After the parade ended at Tompkins Square park, the Dancefest began. These dancers alternated between being costumed as caterpillars and butterflies. I don't know the name of their group; they had run out of business cards, and seemed a bit shy about telling me. I hope someone contacts me with more information after seeing this. The routine was done to no music, and was very popular with passers-by, including me.

This is really great footage. I completely missed the butterflies. I shot the girls in pink as they were changing their heads into flowers & got some cute interactions with a little girl who was watching. You were working in a difficult environment because of the light & shadows. A good camera like I have helps in these cases. I'd like to know more about what they were all about. So much fabulous stuff was happening, no one could see all of it.
