Howard devoto write such amazing lyrics, these guys were doing post punk when punk was a baby, Magazine is one of the greatest bands ever, and defintely the most underrecognized

Magazine is the best ever overcome to me in music in the 19th century.

Great song. Great record. I bought this about four times on vinyl cause it kept getting pinched at parties and by my light fingered brother. The riff and sense of space in this track is down to JMcG and Martin Hannett definitely, that stringy bass and taut funky drums also. The lyrics and delivery by Howard pure theater a tour de force really.
