Originally found on Nico Nico Douga titled, ファミマガVideo創刊9月号 (literally Famimaga Video ), I stumbled upon this while searching for media on Mother 3 for Shat-Canned Legends.

Very interesting stuff, especially upon seeing that these 80s Japanese game videos are from a completely different, and simpler era. Innocent too.

The video shows the various differences of this prerelease version to the final that my annotations will go over. For one, none of the levels are recognizable (except perhaps one particular part), and the HUD is different.

Original URL: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13196307. Because I don't want to take all the credit for this, as the video was originally uploaded and found on Nico Nico Douga. I just wanted to spread this video to the western hemisphere.

That's not just wicked weird 80's japanese music.

That sounds part of Laserdance's "So Fine All the Time"? But this came first?

For a more detailed explanation, just google "The Koopalings were retconned into minions", and the first link shall do the job.

Long story short, the direct translation is "Bowser's children, the Koopalings--"... or, if we want to be literal, "Little Bowsers". Note that this name only implicates their relationship to Bowser, it's "kodomo-tachi" that's important here.

This argument just came up somewhere, can you explain those words for someone who doesn't know a lick of Japanese?

    0:53 "Kuppa no kodomo-tachi, Ko-Kuppa--"

So, what was that about Koopalings never being Bowser's children in Japan?
