well, i returned to Vana'diel, and im glad, the new expansions for abyssea are awesome ^^, i left to try 14 and rift, 14 was a flop (i assume it will be like 11 and become another amazing game in later years) and rift was fun for a while, but still nothing compares to 11. So i quit being dumb and went back. Haven't regretted it for a moment

Wish I could bring back the feelings that went along with this game years ago. Stepping outside into the ronfaure for the first time, spending days hunting sub job items, getting to jeuno the first time, getting your advanced job, killing the shadow lord, spending countless hours looking for help to complete AF quests, completing so many painful limit break quests, hitting 75... I've never experienced something with so many emotions before in my life, ever.

This game was undoubtedly my favorite game of all time. I still remember how awesome it was when I first hit 10 and could go get into a party for the first time in dunes, or unlocking an advanced job, but the best feeling was when(when 75 was still cap) I unlocked sky access, those were fun times. Miss this game a lot, may return very soon.

FFXI was definetely the best MMO i ever played. Those were the best 300 days of playtime spent on a game!!

@Taruteddy I'm inclined to agree. Removing the restraints was not what the game needed. They should have stuck to the focus that made it great, its story. Still I wouldn't mind returning.

the times before abyssea were undoubtedly the best... FFXI is no longer FFXI....

I agree. I returned recently after 2 years and these book burns and abyssea parties just burn me out. I did not enter Abyssea until I was lv.78+ because I did not want to pay gil to join, so I had to suck it up and do book burns from level 38-78 in Crawlers nest. It´s terrible. Exp might be faster now, but I get incredible bored much quicker now than before. When I was about to treturn to the game I was actually looking forward to party grinding in many different zones. Too bad much had changed

I sincerely hate what this once-wonderful game has become. Granted, I haven't played since abyssea was released, but monk tanking just seems wrong to me when paladins don't really do much of anything anymore; I miss the days of stacking VIT on PLD and just being some huge meat shield. I would kill to just rewind to CoP, but with inclusion of BLU in it because it's the last good thing that has happened to this game. I want to do parties again instead of just abyssea; I MISS the dunes.
