Sheila E. doesn't get the respect she deserves,IMO....her drumming in the SOTT concert movie is phenomenal!
-
George Duke is only like the most complete musician ever.....look it up. From classical, RnB, to funk as you see it here....

awful camera guy this is a BASS player on and no close up's of the bass player doing his thang. P.S not Stanley Clarke
-
I can't see the bassist that clearly...is it Stanley Clarke?
-
oldie but goodie, too bad they did not have the camera on the bass player byron miller when he did his bass solo
-
I wish this was a better recording. I saw George Duke at the Circle Star Theater in Redwood City in the early 80s with War.
What a Concert.
-
That's Byron Miller
-
This has got to be one of the most Funkiest jams ever made in the '70's. George Duke, Ndugu on drums, and Sheila E(scovedo) all together on the Midnight Special
-
That's Byron on bass. Stanley never played this song
-
is that Byron Scott on bass or L. Johnson?

Leon Ndugu Chancler on Drums / Vocals / Percussion

@pistolCrockett I just added his name to the tags. Thanks for the info.

You know, I think I have a dim childhood memory of seeing this band on TV during the 70s. Never saw them before or since, nor did I know the songs, but this might be the ones I remember. Another flashback brought to you by YouTube!

I'm pretty sure this was from Midnight Special.

@MoondogMayne
I think you're right. I suggest you add Midnight Special to your tags, then. There's plenty of people my age out there searching for old clips from that show; you'll get more traffic.

I'm afraid if I put a Midnight Special tag on it, it will get flagged for copyright violation.
