A video on sunscreens has been the most popular request on my website so here it is! As I said in my skincare routine video when I promised to make a stand alone sunscreen film, sunscreen is very dear to my heart as I have suffered from pigmentation so I'm extra careful. I can't speak for all as everyone's skin type, lifestyle and needs are different so I've made this video very much about my personal favourites. I've tried many different ones over the years and taken lots of advice from dermatologists and scientists I've worked with and these are the products I've had the most success with. Sunscreens are not just for holidays by the beach they are for everyday. Damage is accumulative, so you don't even realize it's happening when you are shopping and walking around town in the lovely bright sunshine.

  • Hi, Lisa, have a question for you, do you think powder with SPF can be used as a sunscreen?

  • @YoungDamnedLust not on its own no. Best use a moisturiser (or suncream) with an SPF first then use the powder over the top for extra protection or for touch ups.... to be on the safe side X

  • Thank you! Your film was worth the wait, and it is a real luxury for us to be able to benefit from your expertise! P.S. - I think the DDF Matte finish photo age is discontinued, at least here in the States. Thanks again. x Tara

  • @steeletara01 Oh no maybe they are discontinuing it (hope not) but it is still available at the moment.. I bought it last week at Sephora in New York and it is definitely still on the Sephora website. Thanks for your lovely comment x

  • I have very sensitive skin so I must wear a high sun protection even in winter; the one I use daily is called "baby carota" and it's from an italian brand which makes 100% natural product. I definitely recommend it.

  • @cristinatubo thanks I will get some next time im in Italy to try it out. x

  • This is very important information, so thanks for sharing. Many years ago, I used to work in the tanning industry, and last year I had some prestage cancer removed from my face. I had it done at a private hospital, and they recommended the La Roche-Posay products, so I wear SPF 50 underneath my makeup every day, and also my foundation contains SPF. Sun is so damaging to the skin, it ages you so fast!

  • Since I was a little girl, I have had a real problem with the sun, intolerance and rashes... This could be a winner for me! Thank you for sharing so much helpful advice!

  • Hi Lisa, another great video to watch ! I just discover your blog and it's amazing. Thanks for all your council ! I have a question about the sunscreen utilisation : do I have to apply moisturizing cream before the sunscreen or is it possible to only use the second?

Thank you in advance for your answer and sorry for the formulations because i'm french ;-).

  • Dear Lisa, after hearing your recommendation about Peter T. Roth instant SPF, I tried it and already like it so much!! It´s indeed, very finely milled, and a lot of powder flies all over when you shake it, but it´s ideal to reapply sunscreen once you´ve got your make-up on, and does not give a cake-y look. Thank you!

  • thanks Lisa extremely. I live in Australia under harsh sun. now i will be able to pick a right one for me.but would you recommend any specific one? would be very helpful .

  • Thank you sooooo much. These videos helped me a lot since I've been very confused about what product to get. There is just to many on the market and just a little bit of direction will help a lot.Thx much! :-)

  • Lisa, I always love your vids and thanks for posting this! I have some concerns about some of these sunscreens though. The US EWG Sunscreen review 2011 (breakingnews.ewg.org/2011sunscreen/) lists some of these as 'high risk' to health because they contain Vitamin A and/or hormone disrupters. The least hazardous is La Roche Posay Anthelios, and there's no review of a few of the products, such as the amazing Institut Esthederm range, because it is a US report.

  • Thank you! Thank you! :)

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom thnx, your videos are very professional and informative) Love them)
