4 MILLION dogs are euthanized each year. The dogs in this video died from what I think a VERY inhumane method of euthanizing anything...the gas chamber.

Remember that someone outside those gas chamber walls were responsible for these dogs and puppies lives.

Adopt a dog form your shelter. Spay and neuter. Be a responsible owner. Love your doggy. Keep tags on your dog.

***I DO NOT OWN THE MUSIC OR PICTURES****

Music: Let it Be. Composed by the Beatles. Sang by singers from Across the Universe. I am not associated in ANY way with the music.

The pictures belong to the Griffen County animal shelter in Georgia.

  • Speaking as a RN, the word euthanasia in Greek means "Good Death". The animals being gassed howl, cry...such horror! I have been to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

where it shows how the Nazis gassed...why would anyone want to be associated with that?

  • Yes...the word euthanasia doesn't really go with the way these dogs died, did it? Gassing is definetly not a good death, human or animal. My heart aches whenever I think of the Holocaust. However, I chose the word euthanasia because some of my friends who are 12-13 didn't know what gassing was, and they really didn't need to know the specifics. :(

  • You open your eyes. I have seen many people who come from working at animal shelters, and they are very kind hearted people. They care for animals and despise having to euthanize them, but what else can they do? What's your plan? Throw innocent animals out into the street to die a slower, painful death? I'm not with PETA or anything, so sorry if I sound so retarded PETAish, but most animal shelters give animals a peaceful death. I think it's wrong and so sad, there is no other option!! :"(

  • There are other options. What happens to unwanted children? Are they given a peaceful death? No they go from foster home to foster home. That is one solution that could be used for often until the dog dies of natural causes or is adopted. Also if they spent more time tracking down people that though out animals and enforcing the law instead the easy kill way out. Animals are life forms also, they deserve the same respect that ANY human does.

  • I agree, totally. But what can you do about it? Shelter workers don't have a choice because the law isn't like that. Shelter workers are just like you and me, I'm sure they want to see it happen too. Our government doesn't care about animals enough sadly, and what can you do about it? I wish I could do something about it, but I can't. So I help out in the ways that I can by volunteering and helping animals get adopted.

  • crule ppl why did yu not adoped one

  • @JUNEAUandFENDI Actually those who are to blame are those who buy the animals, bring them home and then, because they lack interest, responsibility and time, just take the animals to a shelter. THAT is mean and those who euthanize the animals just do their job...

  • @ofcelticblood i agree

  • The dog at 0:16 is "smiling".

  • @ofcelticblood My dog was a rescue and I took two kittens from a woman who kept letting her cat have babies. She said that she would have her spayed because she was tired. That was almost 6 yrs ago, I hope she followed through. To her credit, she always found homes for the kittens.

  • @ofcelticblood I know that not all humans are in Heaven or whatever. Gassing is a bad technique. I volunteered at a shelter that didnot use that practice, but I could never bring myself to visit "death row".

  • @kathyk27 - Because you are human and have a heart. Adopt, spay & neuter. Just adopt one animal from a kill shelter will make a difference. Many need training, that is doable. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Heck my son taught my cat Jack to sit and come on command. A cat! (And all my furry babies were resues).

  • @scorpietta - Rest a sure, if there is a heaven all these innocent are now there. Cannot say that about all humans.

  • @catlover580 - Blame each and every person out there that doesn't get their dog/cat spayed or neutered.

They are the problem. Irresponsible "pet" owners. Until zero animals need homes no one should be allowing their dog or cat to reproduce. Same goes for people. You can't feed or take care of them right, don't have em.

    Simple logic.

Watch this video. Each of these "beings" were gassed because there were not enough homes for them.

They didn't stand a chance in hell. Terrible end
