  • Where was the BBC2 Wales Christmas ident for 1989?

  • @cwilliams1976 Didn't have a copy. For the record, the BBC2 Wales Christmas ident in 1989 was that endlessly spinning top again, only with a custom BBC2 logo.

  • This is the first time I have seen the second part of your retrospective analysis of BBC Xmas idents of the past, and I have to say I am suitably unimpressed by the late '80s efforts. The golden era for me, was 1974-1984, before all that clever, Thatcherite, dull (delete as appropriate), technology took over.

  • 1989 rules though, I have a knife.

  • LOL! Loving your sadistic narration, am laughing!

  • Sadistic? I hope you mean sarcastic.

  • I watch these videos every year now. Do you think I should get myself sectioned?

  • The partridge flies away! #win

  • At Christmas 1985 BBC Wales made TV history by having the first electronically generated Christmas Ident which was only shown in Wales.

  • excellent again. I don't think I have actually watched a video this long on youtube that wasn't a tv show before.

  • lol @ BBC2's 1987 'effort'

  • The 1988 BBC2 Christmas logo is a weird one.
