Anime Character Study: L

Today, for your Entertainment we present: from the Death Note Series; L Lawliet "L"

L is one of the most complex characters we have seen on an anime series in a while, his personality Is that of an outcast, unsociable, unapproachable at best but his best qualities as a character are shown when he is faced with a problem a challenge and he met his perfect match in Kira.

The whole interaction between Kira and L was one of the best conflicts between the "bad guy" and the "good guy" ever portrayed on an Anime series. It was not about whom the stronger one was or who had the most power ooh no...this were psychological duels, cerebral wars! The kinds of clashes that made your brain tingle with ideas trying to figure out what would be the next move. During the series both characters evolved to what could be called an "obsession" to catch each other, sometimes even putting innocents at risk on their mental battles, just to get that much closer to that point where they can finally say.

"I Win"

And at the end the best man won...or did it?
