The level is just about playable! Changes to come will include the final building, due to all the lighting problems and the integration with the level I'll be starting next. Also, I'll be tweaking the smoke effects on the ruins and adding a skybox.

For the next map, 'partition', I'll try and get it playable from the first build. I've come up with a way of changing the gameplay that might be fun, but will certainly be different. Most of the maps in the campaign will split up the team into two groups, often not forcing this but instead making it beneficial. Also, I've figured out some ways to make the entire campaign work in singleplayer with bots (bots just hate pushing buttons, carrying gas cans and generally being useful).

  • I wonder how you get your ideas, I m making campaign map as well but I m pretty much out of ideas.. and how much does it takes to make one campaign map for you? Also it is pretty hard for me to make map plan where you have to go and similar things, I can't come up with something very impresive cause I m out of ideas, I think alot of maps are done already and I don't want to copy them or make very similar ones, I just need insipiration.. But I don't know where I could find it.

  • @t0m4s14 I gave up for making portal 2 maps - a lot easier - so best not ask me -__- Still, I spent a bunch of time on Google Earth, looking at streetview images for the setting. I was going to have different gameplay for each level too - e.g. the finale where survivors have to cover each-other from a distance. Adding stuff like that at least makes things feel less like a series of rooms - panic events, scripted sequences, open areas or dangerous terrain as in this level with the building. gl ;p

  • Looks great! I like the collapsed building.

  • This looks great, I especially enjoy the smaller details you put in there (the graffiti at the start, the ruins, and the storefronts) however some areas (the streets, certain buildings, and the cafe the players start in (0:47)) look like they need more detail

    this will be a great campaign... I can feel it.
