This is a spot-on parody of stereotypical 1950s American families as presented by pop culture, while still being a sweet and sincere love song. Quite a juggling act. This would have been my favorite movie of all time, but the dramatic finale was changed into a happy fairy-tale ending thanks to the test audience.
This is one of my favorite songs of Little Shop, no doubt. There was a girl who had to play Audrey in the summer play I worked on (It wasn't Little Shop, though, but a different play) and she had to sing it. It wasn't nearly as good as Ellen Greene, but it was still impressively done c:
