  • Ella Mae was great. This song sounds very much like a rearranged version of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from the Andrews Sisters.

  • This young lady is ferociously erotic.

  • Soooo Cool.

  • @zebraXbear

    With Freddie Slack--

They're so cool together, I need my sweater.

  • LOVE Ella Mae Ella Mea !!! speacially House of Blue light .....

  • Absolutely! The music predated the term. May I suggest checking out Big Joe Turner's Jump Blues arrangements which he reportedly gave to Bill Halley, and to what Big-band Swing Musicians did with Boogie Woogie and Jump Blues. Of particular note are Erskine Hawkins' "Hawk's Boogie" (1946) and "Uproar Shout" (1937). Some might say Hawkins' variations of Jump and Boogie were the first Rock & Roll arrangements. Also, Fats Waller's playing laid considerable ground work for Rock & Roll.

  • Definitely great - all this that Ella Mae did. Hadn't heard about her before YouTube. Must be a key link between boogie woogie and Rock'n Roll & related contexts.

  • more more more of Ella Mae Morse please!

  • Where or where is Ella Mae's Blacksmith Blues? Where?? Where???
