So I figured out how to get into the secret world "minus world" of super mario bros on the NES.
Here is how to do it.
1. play through the first level, and go to the last pipe in the second level, break the brick above the pipe and crouch, while crouching, you jump up and then press right.
When you do it correctly, you will fly through the wall and pipe. Enter the green pipe without scrolling the screen too far, and into minus world you will go!

@edwee256 Its not a hack. This is a bug that exists in the actual NES game.

As far as I know, it will not work on the SNES version.
The technical reason that it works on the NES, is a programming issue on the game ROM called an uninitialized pointer. (I'm a programmer, I know these things) The SNES version of the ROM is not the same game, it is a complete re-write of the game, and the same programmers did not program the game, so I doubt highly that the bug would still exist in the SNES version. I have no SNES to test this, but all logistics point to it not working.
