@essellent Now this I agree in! "Protecting Africa’s wildlife and wild landscapes is the key to the future prosperity of Africa and its people helping them and their community in development, health and education!" as I have worked in & supported this in Zimbabwe also helping in education in 'Conservation' as that's my forte.

so how long did you do each program for? I'm in high school so my summer's aren't very long. I think the max i could do is 4 weeks :( but i didn't know you could combine programs, that is a great idea. but i don't know if only two weeks at the lion project would be enough for me. if you don't mind me asking, how was it life changing? i mean was it just seeing and experiencing some amazing stuff? or did u learn a lot and feel like you made a real impact? thanks for responding by the way!!

I did go to the lion program in Zim but if you are looking for community work this would not be the program for you. The only work we did was visit an orphanage for an hour or so on Saturdays. You would have to look into other programs in this video for that. The lion program was absolutely amazing though. You can combine programs too. I went to the lion program and then to a vet program in South Africa and worked in a shelter with abused and neglected cats and dogs. Both were life changing!

I had an amazing experience at Antelope Park! There is no feeling in the world like walking every day through the African bush with lion cubs. You get to learn so much about them. The ALERT organization is truly doing great things in lion conservation as well. Check out the African Impact Antelope Park facebook group. You can meet previous volunteers and the staff and they can answer any specific questions you have. I highly recommend this program it truly changed my life!

did you end up going to the Lion program in Zimbabwe. if you did i would love to hear what you thought about it. i want to volunteer in africa in the next year or two and im considering african impact. im looking at several of the trips that integrate community work with conservation work.
I am planning on going to the Lion Program in Zimbabwe in Sept. While looking for information on the web I found your video here. This has been the most valuable piece of information out there. I was dying to see what it would look like. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos. It has helped me more than you will ever know.
