Being a Teenager is Difficult | One-Shot

Dear Journal,

Sometimes I feel like I'm alone in the world; as if no one really understands me. I feel as if I'm about to break down and cry with all the complications that I go through. Every little kid always says I cant wait until I grow up and become a teenager. Until they actually live the life of a teenager, they don't know how hard it actually is to be one. Dealing with school, homework, parents, and teachers, there's just no way out. Sometimes we have to put up masks because all of the pain we are going through inside; we act to happy, we help everyone as much as we can, when in reality your dying slowly inside. Our parents tell us; you're too young to make decisions on your own, you're just a teenager; a wild little thing, you have to do as I say. If part of growing up is making decisions, why do they insist on making them for us? Everything is not peaches and cherries. When you're a teenager you feel left out; you have to prove yourself; to your family, friends, and even strangers. They tell you you're not pretty enough, you're too fat, your hair is too long, and your skin color is different. While your family tells you a completely other thing; you're beautiful, you've become a woman; you're not that little girl we used to know. Two different sides; but none of them matter, because when you look in the mirror your disappointed in the reflection that appears. Its hard to live when you don't love yourself, wishing you could just change it all. When you finally crack and act just a bit different one day, all your friends say whats the matter? I really don't think you'd understand, I cant bear the hurt, and I cant stand the pain, but none if it matters since they just ask out of common courtesy; they don't really care. They all tell me their afraid of being alone; me? Ive always been alone, no one to believe in, no one to tell all your pains to. Then there comes another stop in the train; betrayal. Lies are said, and sins are done; you're left alone in the dark. You find out your best friend has lied to you all along, and it turns out she was talking behind your back. It all just turns out to be one big fat lie in the end. When you sit there broken, torn apart, and have nowhere to turn to, is where you go back in time to that one point where everything seemed okay; where you were once that innocent little girl, that just worried about getting high on the swings, and the only drug you knew was medicine. It tough to be a teen and nobody around you seems to mind, or care.

been there, done that. when you get up and out of teenage days you will see that some decisions were just a bit too big for you. people push you for a reason. just make sure that they are reasons that will help you in the end.
