Carrying out an experiment to study the behaviour and reaction of a lithium polymer battery pack (5-cell) when subjected to excessive heat.
The first few minutes of video may not be that interesting to watch, but I've included it as some of the chat is entertaining :P

Experiment apparatus:

1 x 5-cell lithium polymer battery pack (1 cell damaged)
1 x smouldering camp site barbeque
1 x box of matches
1 x fuel source ;-)

  • I heard from Dave Weston that it got rather funny after you turned the camera off

  • @darkelfproductions Yeah, Dave Moulds later poured some more petrol on, this time from a jerry can. But the flame burned up the stream of petrol as he was pouring it and it engulfed the can and partially set Dave's arm on fire, at which point he threw the can away across the grass. It didn't explode but there was a nice line of flame burning in the grass, leading towards the can. During all this I thought I was recording, but later realised that I hadn't pressed the button properly :-(
