@harpoonia6969 Sorry, just saw your comment. Blackwater NWR is in Dorchester County, Maryland on the Eastern Shore. The refuge has the largest remaining native population of Delmarva fox squirrels. We've transplanted some of our squirrels to Chincoteague NWR in Virginia, where they now have a nice population as well.

@twinkler2012 that's interesting - because you are apparently not far from Harford County, MD right? The Fish Fish and Wildlife Service shows an endangered population there but not one in your county. I mean, I totally do not know the area so I don't know how those forests are spread out. But if it happens to be Delmarva and it's living in a previously unknown county: that would be worth knowing. :-)
